As a South feminist network committed to economic justice, gender justice and democracy, DAWN has always recognizes the need to move beyond theory – what we refer to as analysis – towards practice and activism. This includes advocacy, mobilisation and capacity building. DAWN recognizes itself as a network of scholars and activists from the economic South, working at the intersection of feminist scholarship, activism, critical feminist policy analysis, and advocacy. Movement building lies at the heart of DAWN’s work. All DAWN training spaces are designed to support feminist mobilisation and to strengthen feminist movements at a local, regional and global levels.
