This session was organized by Sexuality Policy Watch (SPW) in collaboration with the Coalition of African Lesbians (CAL), CONECTAS and DAWN.

The speakers were: Sonia Correa (SPW), Cai Yiping (DAWN), Akshay Khana, Ana Cernov (CONECTAS) and Kwezilomso Mbandazayo (CAL).

In this session, speakers shared and explored further the implications of global economic and political shifts underway – which are manifested in the formation of new geo-political blocks such as BRICS – for the politics of gender, sexuality and human rights.
